When one speaks of the origins of MMA and, in particular The UFC, the name Gracie is the first one to their lips. When one speaks of the legendary Gracie family, Gracie Barra [pronounced like "baja"] is the first academy that enters the conversation. At the forefront of the evolution of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Gracie Barra is still very much relevant in today's MMA scene with ties to a veritable who's who list of top MMA fighters.
Among the top brass at Gracie Barra is Vinicius "Draculino" Magalhaes, the leader of both the Gracie Texas and Gracie BH schools. Draculino's abilities as an instructor are the stuff of legend and now he has channeled his proven training regimen into an online program for both students and instructors. Unlike most instructional DVDs on today's market, Draculino's program does far more than just show a sequence of moves. His program is a structured, step by step training plan that will take a you through every stage of your BJJ development.
We sent Draculino a handfull of questions about his techniques, views on BJJ in MMA, and his program. Below is the first of a two part video in which Draculino answers our questions and shows off some samples of his famed techniques.
