Following his submission loss to Brian Foster at UFC 123, it has been reported that Matt Brown has become the latest fighter to be cut by the UFC.  Ariel Helwani reports from his Twitter however, that this is not the case at all.

From MMABay:

Exciting welterweight, Matt Brown has become the latest fighter to be cut by the UFC as the promotions ruthless cull of fighters continues this month just days after suffering his third loss in a row.

From Twitter:

FYI - Matt Brown has NOT been released from the UFC. This comes from the UFC.

Matt Brown has been a part of the UFC roster since TUF season 7. Coming off his third straight loss by way of submission, it at first seemed that Brown and the promotion have parted ways.  With Helwani's new report however, it leaves the whole situation in question.  "The Immortal" at one point amassed a 3 fight win streak in the octagon, totaling a 4-4 UFC record.

He is a TUF fighter who is popular so he will have some shelf life despite the losses. You want to see a guy get cut because of losses? Then he better not be popular with the people or Dana! The third loss "rule" doesn't apply to all. Especially if you don't have a boring fight.
