In a shocking move, Strikeforce has decided to release Joe "Diesel" Riggs. This comes as a surprise as Riggs has won 6 out of his last 7 fights and 2 out of his last 3 with the organization. While unconfirmed by the organization as of press time, FiveOuncesOfPain assures confirmation that the two parties have parted ways.
From FiveOuncesOfPain:
Strikeforce has released Joe Riggs despite “Diesel” having actually won a pair of consecutive bouts including a victory at Strikeforce Challengers 10 in August and a first round TKO at a King of the Cage event a few weeks ago.
Riggs has been racking up a series of wins as of late. After a rocky 2008, Riggs has been on a roll, losing only to Jay Hieron. At this time it is unknown why Riggs has been dropped from the Strikeforce roster, but The Mouth will keep you updated as we learn more on the situation!
